Dr Louis Do
BAppSc MBBS FRCPA FRACP
Louis is a clinical and laboratory haematologist who diagnoses and manages various blood-related disorders. Graduating from Sydney University in 2012, he completed Haematology training at Westmead, Nepean, and St George Hospitals and Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. He undertook subspecialty training with Fellowships in Transplantation and Immune Effector Cell therapies, including CAR-T, at St Vincent’s and Westmead Hospitals, contributing to the accreditation of these treatments against international standards. He has worked as a Consultant at Concord, Westmead, and Cairns Hospitals and is currently a Staff Specialist at Calvary Mater Newcastle/NSW Health Pathology, serving as Clinical Lead in post-transplant care. He also holds admitting rights at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital.
Louis is dedicated to providing high quality care and contributed towards the establishment of the acute deep vein thrombosis pathway in Western Sydney, earning the 2017 NSW Health Quality Award in the Patient Safety category with his team. He actively participates in multidisciplinary teams for leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, transplantation and CAR-T at local to national levels, ensuring patients have access to the most appropriate treatments, including clinical trials. He is a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of Newcastle and is passionate about providing Haematology education and training to all medical and non-medical personnel.
His clinical interests include leukaemias, myelodysplastic syndromes, lymphomas, myeloma/other plasma cell disorders, thrombosis and other non-cancerous blood conditions.
